A note from Andy

An unspoken rule about range cookers

I sometimes think pets “get” cookers better than people do.

They’re drawn to them for all the same reasons we are, but they don’t discriminate; they’re not fussed whether it’s a fully-customised Lacanche tailored perfectly to your kitchen or a wood-fired ESSE.

The moment that oven door opens, the dog’s up, nose twitching, hoping something might “accidentally” fall their way.

On the other hand, cats will often claim a permanent spot somewhere nearby to soak up the warmth (often at the expense of a bit of your kitchen counter!).

But over the years, I’ve heard many customers tell me the same thing…

As soon as their range cooker was set up, the pets moved in, and – if it wasn’t before – the kitchen was now their territory.

It’s like an unspoken rule about range cookers. And it’s one of the things I love about them…

They’re not just there to cook dinner. They turn the kitchen into the gathering place for family, friends, and four-legged companions alike.

So here’s something I wanted to try…

If your dog is always poking its nose in the kitchen during Sunday lunch, or if your cat insists on supervising every casserole, send me a photo.

I’d love to put together a little “Gallery of Companions” I could share in future newsletters (or on the website).

Just reply to this email with any photos you have.
