A note from Andy

How long will it last?

A comment I hear quite often in the showroom goes something like this:
"Our last cooker only lasted seven years."
Sometimes it's five. Sometimes it's ten. But the story is usually the same…
Something expensive stopped working properly, parts were difficult to get, and before long the conversation turned to replacing it entirely.
People seem increasingly tired of that cycle – I know I am.
The idea of buying something, using it for a few years, and then starting all over again doesn't sit very comfortably when it comes to a kitchen.
After all, a kitchen isn't a temporary thing. It's where people cook every day, where families gather, where visitors end up sharing a glass of wine while something's on the stove.
When customers visit the showroom, the conversation tends to shift away from features and towards something much simpler:
"How long will this last?"
That's one of the reasons I only work with a small, select group of range cooker manufacturers.
They all build things in a slightly different way – different styles, different origins, different traditions – but they share one important idea:
They expect their cookers to stay in the house for a very long time.
Not five or ten years. I'm talking decades.
They're built so parts can be easily replaced. They're designed so they can be properly serviced. And they're made from materials that age well rather than wear out.
Looked after properly, these cookers can easily remain with you for 30+ years.
Your question need not be "How long will it last?"
Instead, think of this…
Which one would you still enjoy cooking on twenty years from now?
