Have you ever been watching TV with someone and they point something out that you'd never have noticed otherwise?

Maybe a car that's from the wrong period, an actor whose outfit suddenly changes in the same scene, or a misplaced camera that gets caught in a reflection, things like that.

Well, that's me, but with cookers.

Honestly, whenever I'm watching something with my partner, I'll spot a cooker in the background, and before I know it, I'm saying, "That's an Everhot!" or "There's an ESSE!"

She just rolls her eyes at me every time...

But once you've been in the cooker business as long as I have, it's hard not to notice them. I just can't help it!

For example, if you watch Emmerdale, a Cream Everhot is sitting pretty in Home Farm. And the other day on EastEnders, I spotted another Everhot...

They're also constantly cropping up on renovation shows:

  • Escape to the Chateau has featured Rayburns and Lacanche cookers.
  • Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country had an Everhot appearance.
  • And, of course, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's show at River Cottage often features ESSE range cookers.

And here's one you may have seen without realising...

In the 1985 film A View To A Kill, James Bond whips up a quiche using an ESSE range cooker, its first on-screen appearance!

So, next time you're watching TV, see if you can spot them too. And if you ever catch yourself doing what I do, don't say I didn't warn you.

Anyway, if you're in the market for a cooker that's worthy of a starring role in your own kitchen, feel free to pop by the showroom or drop me a line.

Warm regards,
Andy
