You might think your range cooker's main job is just to whip up delicious meals, but it's capable of so much more than that.
So, I've put together ten ways you can put your range cooker to work which may surprise you, and none of them involve cooking.
-
Warmth & Cloth Drying: Probably the best advantage (especially in the UK) to having a range cooker is the residual warmth it provides. And it can essentially replace a tumble dryer when it comes to drying clothes. On a chilly night, try warming your pyjamas before bed.
-
Loosen Stubborn Lids: Have you ever struggled with a tight jar lid? Place it lid-down on the hot plate and it will loosen it up in no time. Just be sure to use a cloth when opening it!
-
Dehydrate Herbs & Flowers: You can use the residual warmth to dry herbs, flowers, or citrus peels for later use.
-
Sourdough Fermentation: The gentle heat is perfect for proofing dough or fermenting your sourdough starter.
-
Potpourri & Incense Warmer: It's easy to fill your home with your favourite scents simply by placing a potpourri bowl on the warm range.
-
Shoe Dryer: Got wet shoes or soggy boots? You can dry them gently near the cooker without damaging them.
-
Pet Bed Warmer: Place a blanket or pet bed near the range to create a cozy spot for pets to curl up and stay warm during colder months.
-
Indoor Gardening: The warmth helps seeds germinate faster, making it ideal for starting seedlings indoors.
-
Natural Dehumidifier: You can easily reduce moisture levels in small rooms by using the heat from your range.
-
Wax & Soap Making: Use the gentle heat to melt wax for DIY candles and use the range's warmth to gently melt soap bases when creating handmade soaps.
Those are just a few ways off the top of my head. But hopefully, that shows you just how much more there is to these cookers.
If you're curious about adding a range cooker to your home, just hit reply or pop down to the showroom, I'm always happy to help.
