Still going strong

One of my favourite days of the year is coming up again.

The Bucks County Show.

I've been going for years now, and every time I come home with at least one story that sticks with me.

Last year it was a mother and daughter who stopped by the Everhot trailer.

I recognised the mum straight away. I'd sold her an Everhot back in 2010.

And before I could even ask how she was getting on with it, she smiled and said:

"Still going strong."

Then she introduced me to her daughter who had recently bought her first house.

And apparently her mum had already given her some advice.

"Don't even look anywhere else!"

That gave me a smile, but what her daughter said next was what really stayed with me.

She told me that because she'd grown up with that Everhot, she couldn’t imagine life without one.

And of course, that realisation came after she moved into her own house…

So, now she wanted an Everhot of her own.

It struck me afterwards that I'd watched a cooker span an entire childhood.

That's not something you see too often!

So when people tell me that their cooker has become part of the family, I always know exactly what they mean.

But hearing someone who'd actually grown up with one put it like that was rather special.

It's one of the reasons I still love doing shows after all these years.

Yes, people come along to look at cookers. But just as often they come over to tell me how theirs is getting on. Or to introduce me to friends or family who are thinking about one. Or simply to say hello.

So, if you're planning to visit the Bucks County Show this year, please do come and find me.

I'll be there on Thursday 27th August with the Everhot trailer, and it'd be lovely to catch up.

Whether you've had your cooker for fifteen years, you're still thinking about buying one, or you just fancy a chat, you're always welcome.

Hopefully I'll see you there.
