A note from Andy

This made me laugh

I realised about twenty minutes into an appointment last week that we weren't going to be rushing this one…

The husband looked up and asked:

"Have you got the WiFi password?"

Not so he could look at cooker reviews...

He wanted to catch up on work while his wife carried on choosing her Lacanche!

It did make me laugh.

To be fair to her, though, she had quite a few decisions to make. And as I’d say to any customer, it’s not something you should rush.

She'd already settled on the size (1405mm), but with Lacanche, that's only the beginning.

At that width alone, there are several different models to choose from, all with slightly different layouts.

Then there's the hob, where you can choose from gas, induction, a traditional French top, or a combination. You have your ovens. Trims. Accessories. Extraction. And, of course, the colour.

And at one point, she even asked a question that I’d never been asked before. In all my years in the showroom, that doesn’t happen too often now!

So I rang Lacanche's UK head office and put them straight on speakerphone.

That way she could get the answer straight from the source.

By the end of it all, about an hour and a half had passed, and she'd designed the exact cooker she wanted.

In the meantime, her husband had caught up on his emails, and everyone left happy!

Now don’t get me wrong, I actually love interactions like this.

They might take a long time, but I’d much rather people make these decisions with plenty of consideration…

You don’t want to rush into choosing something you’ll be cooking on for the next 30+ years.

Some people do their own research and come in knowing exactly what they want.
Others need a little help getting there.
That’s what I’m here for.

So if you're at the stage where you've got lots of questions and no clear answers yet, don't worry. That’s common.

Come on down to the showroom and we can work through it together.

And if you're bringing someone with you, I’m more than happy to give them the WiFi password.
